Comporta Luxury Holiday Rentals
A stunning selection of luxurious rentals in the Comporta area
Comporta is a village on the west coast of Portugal, located approximately one hour's drive from the capital Lisbon. The area of over 12,500 hectares comprisies seven hamlets: Pego, Carvalhal, Brejos, Torre, Possanco, Carrasqueira and Comporta.
The Comporta region has long been a holiday favourite of Portugal's elite, as well as other in-the-know Europeans. Christian Louboutin, Jacques Grange, Philippe Starck and Anselm Kiefer are among those who own homes here. but it is also popular with artists and trendsetters alike, attracted by its understated stylish atmosphere., The area is well looked after, not only because much of it is a highly protected nature reserve
Located between Portugals capital Lisbon and the Alentejo, the coast here offers a stunning expanse of un-spoilt sandy beaches that rival those in the Algarve , as well as having far fewer crowds . Set within a picturesque rustic scene of fishermen thatched cabanas, rice farming and quaint wooden boats. Comporta is an uncomplicated place for enjoying simple things and living at a slower relaxed pace, sampling the superb local food, browsing the boutique shops, or enjoying a cocktail whilst watching a stunning beach sunset. For some family fun, you can go horse riding, book a surf or sup lesson, play a round of golf, hire bikes to cycle from beach to beach, or go wild dolphin watching on the Sado estuary.
There is a good choice of reasonably priced local restaurants to choose from and in the hot summer months, there are parties galore hosted by hip beach clubs; if however, you prefer a quieter holiday, book your vacation outside the summer season when the region is just as charming can be enjoyed in somewhat cooler temperatures.
